18 Months!!... Holy Cow

Hey Everyone!!  How are you doing??  Life has been great for me these last two months!  I am loving the work here, and I have made a lot of changes in my life, and it has been just an awesome week!!

So, this last week was New Years, and it was an awesome one... Except for the fact that I went to sleep at 10 pm!!  Ha ha ha!!  But I don't care!!  I was really tired, so I knocked out!  But in our mission, we had to be inside at 6 pm that night, so we didn't do anything stupid.  But it was really awesome because the mission president gave us this huge packet of paper to study and do basically home work for 2 days!  But it was awesome!!  It was all about looking back on our mission, and how well we have done, and how we need to do better, and it was basically like a 6 hour packet on Repentance!!  It was so awesome to go through that, because it really made a huge impact on my life, and it made me really re-think some things in my life, and where I want to go in life!!  But it really caused me to think a lot about it!  In fact, this last week was one of the hardest of my mission. I'm not really good about putting it into words or things like that, but I feel like my life plans have all of a sudden changed course, and it was something really hard to deal with, and it caused a lot of Crazy anxiety, and I was sick to my stomach for like 5 days!  But it was perfect timing, because we had Mission Leadership Meeting this last week and I was able to sit down with my mission president and talk with him about everything going on in my life, and just really get it all off my chest!  And it was such a good feeling to talk to him and to really get a good talk in with him!!  But I feel like a new person this last week, and it feels so good to not have all that on my mind anymore, and to be able to be back to 100 % on the work!!  So now that I am back to normal, it has been a great week!!

Sorry, there is not much info about that last story, but I don't know how to talk about it, so that's all ya get for now!  But this last week we also had Zone Fun day which was a blast!!   We were able to play some games with the zone and to have a good time playing all sorts of fun games!!  We played a lot of get to know you games because there are so many people in the zone, and it was fun!  We have so many "Different" kinds of people in our zone!!  It is hilarious!! Ha ha!!  So it is very interesting to see what people do in certain situations!!

Well that is about it for the week... sorry there is not much! Ha ha ha!!  I guess it is because not much happened this week!!  I will be more detailed next week, but know this... This week has been one that has really changed who I am as a person, and I will never be the same because of it!  I know that God has put me here in these situations to help me grow and "become the person that He wants me to be," and I know He does all of this because He loves me.  I know that Christ walks with me everyday, as long as I allow Him to be with me, and when I do that I can really feel His love and support in everything I do!!  I LOVE being a missionary, and I hope all of you can find ways to share the gospel with others around you!!

LOVE YOU ALL!!

Another Transfer in Cherry Grove!!

Hey everyone!!  So this last week was so AWESOME!!  It was one of the funnest weeks of my mission so far! I don't really know why, it was!!  I am just glad to have a companion that I can get along with and who is a hard worker and is just fun to be around.

So this week was transfers and I received Elder Pope from Northern California!  It is so sick because he is my "Mission Grandson," the kid I trained, trained Elder Pope!  So ya, it was a lot of fun.  Everyone at transfers was freaking out when they saw that we were together!  But he is super sweet!!  We are already having a lot of fun!! It is so great!

This week we had our ward Christmas party and I thought it would be fun, but it was actually kind of boring, not going to lie.  We all had to sit on the ground and it was just awful.  But ya, we had that, and it was pretty fun setting up all the decorations and snacking on the food as they were setting it up.  But other than that, we just sat around and talked to people who were there.  Which cool story,.... a member in the ward brought an actual nun to the party!! Ha ha!!  It was their kids teacher, and they invited her, and she came!  So that was pretty awesome!  We have such a sweet ward when it comes to missionary work.

Well this week were able to teach Richard!, one of our investigators who is getting baptized this next week, and he is so awesome!!  He was having a hard time giving up smoking, but he is making it happen!  So I will have to send you guys pictures next week of the baptism!!  But ya, I will keep you posted on what else is happening this next week, but other than that, you will just have to wait and see what happens next week!!

Hope all is going well for you this week! Miss and love you guys!!!

The LIfe of Elder Beckman

Hey everyone!!! So this last week was freaking awesome!!  There was so much fun stuff that happened in all so little time, but this was definitely one of the most fun weeks of my mission so far!

So to start out... last Monday was one of the best PDAYS of my mission!! Ha ha ha!!  So we played hockey with some of the youth in my ward, but it was so sweet because we went to the church and set up all the tables in the whole building to make a huge square and then we played hockey in the gym!!  It was so sweet because it was seriously so last minute and we had so much fun!!

Next story was we had a general authority come and talk to us this last week!!  His name was Elder Anderson from the 2nd quorum of the 70!  And it was great!!  He talked to us about really applying the doctrine of Christ into our own lives, and it was just an awesome meeting!!  But, it was all the way up in Montgomery! (where Elder Seegmiller is), so we didn't want to wake up super early to go the the leadership meeting, so we got to stay with them in their apartment, with them and another set of missionaries!!  So that was so much fun!!  There was 7 of us all on the floor of their apartment and it was just a grand ole time as you can all imagine!!! Ha ha ha!!  Great times of the mission!

So this week we put an investigator Richard on Date for Baptism for Nov. 22nd and it will be awesome!  Richard is a huge guy, and he looks like a lumberjack!!  It is awesome!!  I will send some pictures next week when it happens!!  But ya, it was great week because we took him to the family history center, and he found some of his relatives are actually Mormon!!  So that was cool for him to see!  But ya, there are a couple of Investigators that we are really working with and will hopefully get baptized before the end of the year!!

So hopefully you are all having a great week, but I want you all to know something, and that is that I know this church is true and it becomes more and more clear every week of my mission!  One of the things I have been working on most in my mission, is following and listening to the spirit in everything I do, and I have seen such a huge change in my life!!  It is amazing to see what God will do for you, if you just stop for a second and listen to what he has to say!  So if you all can keep his commandments everyday, He will bless you with the spirit in your life enough to where you feel the love of God everyday!!

I love you all and hope you have a great week!!

Hey everyone!!! so this week was pretty crazy with so much going on so I will tell ya a few stories that happened this week and then I will let you all get back to living your lives!!

So to start off this week, we had an awesome zone meeting and I gave a training about goals and accountability! It was awesome because I think that is one of the biggest lessons I have learned on my mission, and I am going to use it for the rest of my life!!  But it was awesome because Elder Seegmiller and Elder Bloxham and their zone were in our same building because we had to give a stake wide training to all the missionaries about teaching the Doctrine Of Christ to all the members of the stake!  So that was so much fun being with all of them and having a great time!  And of course, we took a ton of pictures which I will send later on...

Elder Beckman and the missionaries at the Stake wide Training

So next story was a service project that we got sucked into by this old guy in our ward... it sucked ha ha ha!!  So normally I love service, but I honestly hate it when people are unprepared, and they just want us to do all of their house chores!!  So, yes, we get to this guys house and he said it was going to only take like 30 mins, but we were there like 2.5 hours, and it was just all house chores and ahh I was so mad but it's ok because I think I will survive!

Next story was a Sweet exchange with Elder Stoddard (Assistant)!!  It was so much fun!!  He is such a sick missionary!  I learned a lot from him, and we just had an awesome time doing work in Western Hills, Ohio!  But it was sweet because he is super good at talking to people, so we seriously talked to so many people that day!!  It was awesome!  But that night we stayed there!!  It was sweet!!  It was the 4 of us and then another zone leader set was there also, so it was a 6 pad for the night!  So much fun ha ha ha!!  But the next day for dinner, me and Elder Stoddard went to Wing Stop and got some wings for dinner, and we both got the atomic wings (hottest kind they have) and it was so funny!!  I have it all on video of us eating them!  And then to end off the night, they took us up to this sick view of Cincinnati, and we got to see this awesome view of it!  But I love exchanges so much!!  It really makes missionary work so much fun!

Well that's about it for you all this week!  I am super happy being out here on my mission, and I love it so much! I just want you all to know that I miss you and love you all!

Hey everyone How is life going for you all?? Well, life for me is fantastic!! Today is going to be a quick email so hopefully you all find something out of this that will benefit your life in some way or another!

So this week was pretty fun!!  I went on an Exchange with Elder Lemuiex and it was super fun!!  We went and did service for this ex-mission president who is so awesome!  We did about 2 hours of splitting wood for him, and just doing all this crazy yard work, because he lives on a huge property!!  But it was a lot of fun!!  Me and Elder Lemuiex went and bought some yoga pants to keep warm while doing service ha ha!!  It brought back a lot of memories, because me and Elder Coughlan had some that we would wear when it was cold too!!  But it was a lot of fun!  Anyway, back to the story!  We went to his house and we did all that work, then he wanted to have a companionship study with us and it was awesome!!  We studied about planning and goal setting and it was really just awesome!!  He also talked to us about accountability, all out of "Preach my Gospel," but it was pretty awesome!!  We went into a pretty deep study about planning, out of Abraham 4, and ya, it was just a great talk! But it was awesome!!  He made us a very cool promise, and he said that if we would apply the things from these sections in our life... we would make a million more dollars in our career than if we would have just forgot about them!  So that was a pretty awesome thing to hear!!  The spirit just filled the room to where you knew it was true!

This last week we taught a lady named, larain, and it was so cool because we wanted her to commit to baptism, but we didn't set a date!!  All we wanted was a commitment, but it was cool because we didn't teach a lesson about baptism!  We planned an awesome lesson on recognizing the spirit, and so we taught about faith and works and what we do when we feel the spirit, and seriously it was one of the most powerful lessons I have ever taught on my mission!  So it was amazing!!  At the end of it, I asked her what were some of the things she learned, and she answered something pretty amazing!.... She said, "Well I learned I need to start coming to church and get baptized!"  I asked her how she learned that, because we didn't even talk about those things... and she said she didn't know, all she knows is that she feels like that is what she needs to do!  We then continued to tell her how that was the spirit teaching her what she needs to do!  It was an amazing lesson and I learned that when you really let the spirit do the teaching, it will be more effective than what ever you do by yourself!

Well that is about it for this week!  I love it here in Ohio and I hope to stay here till the end of the year, but we will see!!
LOVE YA GUYS!!

 Adventures of Elder Beckman!!

Hey Everyone so this week has been awesome! there has been so many cool stories and this week, I actually took some pictures for you guys to see! But it's gonna be awesome today!!  We got transfer calls and I am staying here in Cherry Grove so that will be 7.5 months here!   But it was pretty nuts!!  They are transferring 12 people out of my zone and so we are going to have a fresh new zone by this next week!  Ahh!!! it's gonna be awesome!

So this week was sweet it started off with a phone call from Deanna one of my recent converts saying she had her baby girl!!!  Her name is Leah!  It was so sweet!!  I drove to the hospital and got to talk with them and take some pictures but it is so amazing to see them have the gospel in their lives and the happiness it brings to them!  Ahh just a great feeling it brings! But there will be a picture of us later on in the email!

So next Story was my awesome trip down to Louisville Kentucky!!! So this last Friday, our mission got to go down to the Louisville Temple and got to spend some time down there and it was so great!  It is an awesome time to be a missionary and go to the temple!  The spirit is so strong there and it makes you never want to leave!  But it was great!!  I got to go with two of my favorite ward members and they took us out to lunch after and it was just a great time!

So Next story really makes me sound like my dad, in fact, after I said what I did I said to myself " I can't believe I just said that... now I really am sounding like my dad"  Ha ha ha but the story...
So this last week we were trying to get one of our investigators to come to mutual and we finally got him there after a ton of work just to get him to a church building!  So we told some of the youth that he was coming and that they needed to be there to help us out and things like that!  And one of the ones said to us that he didn't want to go and was debating with us whether or not he should go, and we told him that he can choose whatever he wants to do, but, I asked him "What is the right thing to do?"   So we left them all and about 30 mins later he shoots us this text saying " I am at mutual" and I said back to him, "That's awesome, Ben, sometimes in life we don't want to do things, like go to mutual or things like that. but by going, the Lord is going to bless you!"  It was at that moment I thought back through my life going to mutual and I thought... "Man I have had that conversation with my dad like 100 times!!"  Ha ha ha ha!!  But really though, I have learned so many things out here that is blessing my life and the lives of others!! It is truly amazing! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!

Well Family Friends, and other people cc'd into this email, I hope you all have an awesome day and go out and always have a smile on your face because life is awesome! so always remember that!

LOVE YA!

Elder Beckman Update!!

Hey everyone!!! This week was just a crazy week for me and Elder Christensen!   We had like zero time to spend in our own area this week so it was a really fast week for us.  It feels like just yesterday we talked to you guys!!  But it was filled with so many fun things and just a lot of fun things to do!

So this Tuesday was Interviews with president and it was so LONG!!  We were there from 8 am to 4pm doing teaching role plays and area book and planner checks and holy cow!!!  It just took for ever!!  But it was really fun because we got to be around the Porters all day and that was really fun!  But after it was all over, it was time for dinner and so me and Elder Christensen decided that we wanted to go out to Chilis for dinner and so we went there and had ourselves a nice meal to end off the long process of interviews!!!

Next was Thursday!  We helped a guy move out of our ward and he is moving to Utah!!  But it was so ridiculous it started at 10 am, so the only people available to help move was all the high priests and then the missionaries.... so the high priests in our ward are like super old like the guys who walk in with walkers and canes and stuff, so at the move it was 6 missionaries and 6 old guys.  But it was basically us moving this really rich guy out of his house all day!!  I think it took like 4+ hours to do it all, but I remember moving this huge couch up to the garage and after finally getting in there we went back for more stuff and then we come back and all 6 of the high priests are just sitting on the couch half asleep and I just laughed to myself because I don't know why they even came ha ha ha!!!  But ya, that shot like half of our day and so we had to make the rest of the day really effective!!

Next was Friday and we had Mission Leadership Council... that was a hoot as always.  That is where president talks to us all and what he wants us to really work with our missionaries on.  But it was really fun!!  So president pulled me and Elder Christensen aside with two other sets of sisters and told us to prepare a presentation for a new music rule in the mission and we had like 15 mins to prepare it ha ha ha!!   But it was so funny because I thought we were all going to get up and present it, but instead president asked who was going to be the person who presented it and they all pointed to me.  So I had to stand up in front of everyone and say why we should have a new music rule in the mission ha ha ha ha!!!  It was so scary, but super good at the same time.  I must say I did a pretty good job!  But everyone but this one sister agreed with me, but because she disagreed we could not pass the new rule!!  So ya, she basically messed up the whole mission!!  But it's okay, because I am not dying yet about the music, so I will survive!!

And then lastly, it was the Time of year of GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!

What a great week it was!! Hope all is going well with everyone. please don't be a stranger and not write me from time to time!!  I love more than anything to hear updates of peoples lives on Mondays!!!

 20 years later......

Well everyone it is about that time of year again!!! Super Stoked for General Conference and all the joy it brings to everyone all around the world!  But I know that I will be able to get something that is just for me and that is what I love most about it!!  So to start off my letter I wanna challenge you all to write down a couple of questions that you have and really look to see if they will get answered in conference, because I know they will!!

Now with my letter I am going to keep it a bit short today because i got lots to do today!!  But this week was a lot of fun!!   Filled with all sorts of fun stories that you will get to hear after my mission, but I will share a few that happened this week!

So, first story is that we were going to pick up this old man in our ward to come out teaching with us, and he lives in this old folks apartment complex.... so it is filled with old people everywhere!  So on the way in, we see this old woman outside her apartment trying to get in, and she was having a really hard time.   So we went to see what was up and found out that she was locked out!!  So I looked at this situation and thought what a perfect opportunity to have permission to see if we could some how break into someones house!! ha ha!!  So I looked at Elder Christensen and said, "All righty, let's break in to this woman's house some how!!" ha ha ha!!  So we pulled out a credit card and were trying to get the back sliding door, and that wasn't working and Elder Christensen tried picking the lock to the front door because he knows how, but he wasn't able to!  So I went out back to the window and I basically pried it open with my fingers, and was able to push out the window and we climbed in through the window and Saved the Day!!!  It was funny because this whole thing probably took like 20 minutes and we had gathered a crowed of old people, just watching us, and trying to give us pointers on what to do!! ha ha!!   But it was so funny to see them all out on the back lawn with their walkers and wheel chairs and canes and what not! But, it was a great time and a lot of laughs!

So next story... I was with Elder Christensen and we were teaching Brian and Tiffany, some of our investigators, and we had planned to teach them about the atonement and how it can carry them though their tough times in life!  It went so well!!   We talked about how Jesus has suffered "all" the same things that they have gone through and how they can always have Him help them through it!!  And they were super receptive to it and really want to become a more happy family and really progress in this gospel!!  I am super excited for them to get baptized here in the next couple of weeks, so keep them in your prayers!!!

That is about it for this week!  So, I hope you all have a great week and have a great General Conference!!! LOVE YA

~Keep Smiling~

PS. Sorry No pictures today!

Keep Brian and Tiffany in your prayers, that they might be baptized and find joy in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Elder Beckman, The Fishing Missionary!!

Well Hellooooo Everyone!!!

Things have been going great here in the great Land of Cherry Grove! I recently Got a new companion, Elder Jordan Christensen!!!  He is from Oregon and is a way sick missionary!  It is really funny how similar we are!  He is super laid back and chill and doesn't get stressed about anything and is just a way fun person to be around! But that also means that I lost Elder Price..... :( it was so sad to see him leave.  You have no idea!!   The first couple of days of him being gone, I was super sad and missed him a lot.  I really loved serving with him and it was kind of like leaving family all over again.  But I feel I will feel the same way for Elder Christensen too.

So this last week was sweet we got a lot of people to church and just had some really fun times!!  We have been meeting with a returning member, Allen, a lot lately and we have actually helped him get his Temple Recommend and he is going to come with us to the temple next month!!  I was super happy for him and we just had a great time with him!  Along with Allen... he is a super awesome member missionary!  He was the one who introduced us to Deanna and Anthony and he is now helping us teach his little brother Damien!!  It was awesome we set a lesson with Damien and Allen said that it would be more fun if we went fishing and then had a lesson on the shore of a lake.... So I thought about it for about half a second and said '' OF COURSE!!!"  So we went to a lake with some members of the ward and had a sweet time fishing and talking about the church!!!  Damien came to church the next day and had a great time because of all the boys who came fishing!!   It was so cool to see him so happy with friends now.

Last Story was going to transfers to pick up Elder Christensen... Allen was supposed to drive us up to Dayton for transfer meeting and so in the morning we get this call from him saying that a drunk driver hit his car and now he can't take us.... so, at like 7 am, we called like 20 members asking to take us up there and they all said no.  So we were out of luck and said forget it, we are just gonna drive the mission car up there and just have to sacrifice miles for the month!  So we did and it was all ok in the end.  We got the miles written off and it was all ok in the end. But Holy cow sometimes when one little thing goes wrong it can cause so much stress ha ha it is nuts

But that is about it for my week I will be sure to have an awesome letter for you all next week!

Reds Nation!!!

Hey Everyone!!! So this last week was awesome for me!  I had so much fun doing all kinds of weird crap and we just had a blast at the Reds game and then just being with all the missionaries was so much fun, I loved it!!  But yes, I have a ton of pictures for you all, and sorry I have to send them in different messages... I can't figure out how to send them all in one big email!

So this last Monday was the REDS GAME!!! and it was so sweet!! Holy cow!!!   Even though we lost, it was so much fun!  So President Jensen (mission presidency) is super loaded rich, and he bought out two sections at the game and then we just paid him like half price for the tickets, so that was so sweet!  But man the stadium was so sweet!!  It is right next to the river and it is just awesome to see!  But it was way cool, me and Elder Gibb ( a Spanish elder) walked down to the very bottom section and some guy came up to us and was like, "Hey I'm about to leave do you guys want my seats?" ha ha!!  It was so sweet!!  His seats were like 15 rows off 1st base and then we walked down all the way to the front row after a while!   So sweet and such a cool stadium!  But ya, it was a great time!!  The Radcliife Family took us to the game and after the game we went to the Kentucky side of the river and took pictures of us with the Cincinnati Skyline in the background. But dang was that a long night!! We didn't get back home till like 11:30 p.m.  But dang it was so much fun, I can't even tell ya!

Next Story was our mission had a Social Media split day!! and if any of you know what that is... Our mission came up with it, so ya!!  But anyway, Social Media day is a day where all the missionaries focus on going out with people and having them post pictures of them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and then they Hashtag #SocialMediaSplit,  but I had all the members use #elderbeckman,  but you can try #ElderBeckman or #Elderbeckman.... I'm not sure if makes a difference, but ya, if you wanna see pictures of this guy, look up those hashtags.... But ya, it was fun!!   We did a lot of fun, weird things!!  But I really love Social Media day!!  It gives us a chance to do weird things, ha ha!!

Well last thing I have to say is this week is transfers and I am staying here and I will be getting a new companion!! It is super sad to see Elder Price leave!  I really liked him as a companion!!  We clicked so well, and now I have to start the process all over again, but I think I will like my new companion!!   My options are pretty good.  So ya, it will all work out in the end!

But ya, I miss all of you guys and hope everything is going well!!  I'd love to hear from you guys, so if you can write back and I'll talk to ya'll next week!!

Keep Smiling

WEDDING CRASHERS!!!.... JK more like Salvation Savers!! ;)

Hey everyone!!! This Letter is going to be pretty short because I don't have that much time to write!!  But I want you all to know that I am loving it here and I hope I never leave Cherry Grove!
But this last week was the Wedding and Baptism of Deanna & Anthony Kreiser!!!  We met them about 2 months ago, all because a less active member shared the gospel with them!!  So there is no excuse for any of you not to open your mouth because God will bless you for doing it!!  But they are the coolest family ever I am so happy to have been a part of their conversion!  I just love them so much!! The wedding was awesome!!   We basically handed it over to the church members to put on and they did such a good job it was amazing!!!  And we got to go and hang out and just be with them through this great moment!
Next day was Sunday and they got confirmed and it was so cool to see the ward just welcome them with open arms!!  I love it here, it is like a huge ward family!  All of the members are so close they all just love each other and there is absolutely no drama!
Last little story was LABOR DAY!!! Our mission does a finding challenge for every holiday and the zone who gets the most investigators in one day wins!!  And my zone has won the last 3 by a long shot!! ha ha!!  Yes, I know we are awesome, but this last one was really cool!!  We had a FREE CAR WASH!!  It was cool!!   We got all the elders and sister together and went to our church parking lot and we had a car wash.  While some missionaries were holding signs and some washing, there were some inside the church giving tours to people who were waiting for their car to be done!  It was so sweet!!  I didn't think so many people would come, but they just started flooding in... but it was nice because we bought pop sickles for the kids who were crying!!  But it was just a fun activity for the day!  So my Labor day weekend was way fun!  Because when you are with me, we are always having fun no matter what we do on the mission!
But ya, that was about it for the week!   I am loving it out here and if you wanna hear a very cool story about prayer, you can write me a letter and I will be sure to write you back!! I sure do love you all and hope you are all having an awesome week!!   LOVE YA!

LIFE OF ELDER BECKMAN

Hey everyone!!! LIFE is great here in the Great Ohio Cincinnati Mission!!!  We have had an awesome week and we are just loving being here in Cherry Grove!!  There is no better area in the mission!!  But ya, I hope you are all having a good week.  It was good to hear from some of you.... but some of you failed and don't write/email but I am still including you in the email because I still love ya!! ;)

So this week was fun!  This last Tuesday we had a unusual day... we had a baptismal interview that didn't pass because they did something but they had to get interviewed by a member of the mission presidency.  So we called President Lochinger from Dayton and he was able to fly down... yes, I said fly!  He flew in his plane down here to come give someone an interview.  You could say that is guy is loaded, but he is so awesome!!  He has only been a member since he was 30, but it is awesome!  So we picked him up from the airport and were his taxi for the rest of the day!  And when it was time to drop him off, he took us to white castle and it was awful for those of you who know what white castle is!! ha ha ha, I white castled my pants later that afternoon ;)

Next was zone conference and that was up in Montgomery (where Seegmiller is serving) and we all sat at the same table which was pretty cool, because I have been companions with everyone I was by, so that was a small world, and it was a good meeting we talked a lot about the Doctrine of Christ and how to apply it in our lives and the lives of our investigators, and holy cow it was so sweet!!  After the meeting we had a stake president meeting with President Porter and the stake president and because it was so soon President Porter took us and Seegmiller and Barnett out to eat at this awesome Korean place!!  So it was a good day!!  That is what we did from 9 in the morning till 9 at night!!  Just hanging out with President Porter all day!!

Well that is about it for the week!  Sorry that I only had like two stories for this week, but I don't really have time to write about our teaching pool because I would be here all day!!  Just know that they are all doing awesome and having a great time with us ;)  But ya, if you have any questions for me be sure to write me and ask or else I will not tell ya!!  But I miss you all and hope life is great for ya!!  LOVE YA!

CHERRY GROVE!

Hey everyone!!! this has been a really good week for me and Elder Price!  We are killing it!!  We have seen a lot of miracles and seen some not so fun times this week, but it's okay because we just keep on going and life gets better and better every day!!
So..... it is pretty awesome!!  We received 4 Brand new missionaries into our zone fresh out of the MTC and they are all awesome!!!  So we are excited to have them all put into our zone!!  It's fun because there is a lot of "greenie fire" that we needed so we are about to have a lot of fun today with them, because today we are having a zone fun day!!  Where we can all come together and play some fun games on our off day!
So this last week we were able to get a lot of stuff done!!  We had Transfers and we had Zone Meeting and then this week we have had Zone Conference, and then just some more little stuff but we are pretty busy here in the mission right now!!  But it's okay, I love being busy!! (ha ha ha I cannot believe I just said that!) but ya, it is a lot of fun being busy!
So this last week we met with Tony, our investigator from Jordan, and he is doing awesome!  He came to church with us and is getting along very well with all of them members, but ya, meeting with him is really fun because he speaks really broken English, so I just guess what he is saying and then I repeat it back to him so he can answer. But it was cool!!  He was showing us this old Arabic bible of his and I opened it up, and there was this way old Mormon pass along card inside of it, and he said that missionaries gave that to him like 25 years ago!!  And he used it as a book mark in his bible!!  It was so sweet to see that!! ha ha  It really shows how the Lord is preparing people for us to meet and then to really help them in their life!!  But all we can do now is hope for the best with him, because he has a rough family situation!  So I will keep you posted.
But last story really quick is that Deanna and Anthony are doing awesome!!  They got up in church this last week to bear their testimonies and it was awesome, and when we tried to set up a lesson with them we totally got shafted!!  Ha ha ha!!  We asked them if we could come by Tuesday, and they were like, "Oh, we are busy that day we have something called "Visiting Teachers" coming over."  Ha ha, dang it!  But that is so awesome that the ward is really welcoming them in!!  But ya, I am so glad to be here in the Cherry Grove Ward!!  I am stoked for what is to come!!!
But I hope you all are doing awesome!!  I love hearing about all the stories from home, so keep emailing me pictures and keep sending me stories and letters in the mail!!  Hope all is well!!  LOVE YA!!
Keep Smiling

ELDER BECKMAN!!!!
Hello Everyone!! How the heck are ya?? Well I am doing great this week!  It was an awesome week for me and Elder Price; we were able to kill it as an area and our zone KILLED IT THIS WEEK!!  But I will just fill ya in on some of the miracles and some fun stuff we did this week!! So be ready to be amazed!!
So this week we had a lot of cool things happen with us but I will only tell ya about a couple of them because if you really want to know you can write me a letter and ask ;)  (see what I did there) but anyways back to the story... So on Thursday we were able to go and visit some families and stuff but on our way out of this apartment complex we saw this old guy walking up stairs and he said hello to us and so we talked to him and he was a way nice guy.  His name is Tony and he is from the country, Jordan!  His name isn't really Tony, it is some long crazy name that I can't spell, little alone pronounce, so ya, I will just leave it at Tony!!  But ya, he is a sweet guy who barley speaks English, but enough to be taught!!   But ya, he came to church with us this week and loved it so he will be back next week for sure and I will give you more of an update on him later!!
But also this week our zone had 4 Baptism and it was sweet because the Baptisms are really picking up for each area, so I am stoked for that!!  But it was cool, I got to help out with a lot of them and meet everyone!   It was a lot of fun and Deanna & Anthony came to them and they are just progressing so well it is awesome!!  I love them!!
So for a fun story of the week! So to start off the story with some back ground INFO... so our apartment was trashed by someone as a joke and we were not sure what missionaries it was and so we found out that is was the Spanish elders so we were about to UNLEASH on them, ha ha ha!!  So... we had District meeting this week and it was so fun.  We found out that the Spanish missionaries were going to Cincinnati for their "Spanish" meeting and it was going to go long which gave us a lot of time to have some fun with payback!  So we got a Key from the Front office saying we locked our keys in the apartment and they gave them to us because we all look the same with our white shirts and ties!! ha ha!!  So we went to lowes and mad a copy of the key (shhh!! don't tell them) and then we went and made a huge mess!!   It was AWESOME!!   We put all of their furniture it to this one room and it was just awesome!!  We videoed the whole thing so if anyone wants to see it will be great!!
But that is just some of the fun stuff that has happened this week in my life!!  I am having a great time and loving the mission and the Cherry grove area!!  But I miss you all and hope everyone is doing good!! LOVE YA KEEP SMILING!!
