Elder and Sister Laird Evans

Laird and Karen Evans Karen and I serve at the Conference Center and the Tabernacle as Guest Service Missionaries. Our service includes working with security during all General Conference sessions, Music and the Spoken Word, the Christmas Concert, the First Presidency Messages and other events which are held at the Conference Center or at the Tabernacle. One assignment we were given was Baggage Check during a live broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. One young man came in and checked in his backpack and sleeping bag. He was from France. He said that he had traveled across the United States by thumbing a ride and sleeping on the side of the road. He was very interested in hearing the Tabernacle Choir sing. When the program was over he came in and picked up his sleeping bag and backpack and expressed his great pleasure in listening to the Choir. We have met many people from many different foreign countries as well as those from the United States. We have enjoyed answering visitors questions, bearing our testimonies and serving in the Conference Center and at the Tabernacle.
