Elder Dallin Stout

Mon, Feb 24, 2014 at 1:28 PM,

Tuesday we had a lesson with Milly. On the way as we were walking through the complex an old lady pulled up in a car and threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. So we waited until she left then went to our lesson and met Robbie there. (The return missionary) Our dinner canceled on us so they decided to buy us Panda and drop it off to us at the Murray's Apartment club house. While we were waiting out on the street we saw Angelica in her car coming home. She gave us a call and wanted to meet in the club house just after dinner! So we had a start up lesson and got to know her better.
Wednesday we did service for Araceli to help clean up her yard. We had a lesson with Madelene about trusting in God to help her stop drinking coffee. She knows the church is true and is finding other things to take besides Coffee. But she will not set a date of commit to giving up coffee completely. That night we were walking by the Garcia's house and it was tee peed! We found out that it was for a mutual activity that night and that three other families had toilet paper all over their yards!
Friday we saw Dione outside, we had a lesson with him and got to know him better. He is really solid, wants to learn and was excited when we gave him a Book Of Mormon.
Saturday we had another lesson with Milly, she doesn't have a christian background really so we are trying to strengthen her faith in Christ and get her to church. Its hard for her though because of her Parkinson's. On our way to dinner that night we met 2 guys from a 7th day Adventist church. We got one of their numbers and we hope to teach them. We ate with the Neilson's who gave us breakfast, so I had breakfast every meal that day!
On Sunday there was a baptism for Natalie, an investigator in the 2nd ward. We had the Hendrickson's bring their foreign exchange student and her friend. They had questions about baptism so we taught them at dinner and invited them to also be baptized.
As a zone this last week we had a goal to obtain 105 baptismal invites. Elder Collard and I made a personal goal of making 20 of those last week. Our week starts Monday and ends Sunday night. By Saturday, we only invited eleven people to be baptized and yesterday we had to get 9 to reach our goal. Yesterday we tracted for an hour and invited 7 people! After the baptismal service at dinner we got 2 more making 9 exactly!  We made our goal of 20 and as a zone this week we got 119!  where as in past weeks this transfer we only got 40. So this transfer the zone got 226 baptismal invites!
Elder Collard is getting transferred and my new companion is Elder Sandholtz. He is the new District leader as well.
So our stake center has its own tiny street to get to the building. The stake presidency has gotten permission to name that street. They are thinking of naming it MORMON WAY. I hope they do that would be so cool!

                                                           This is the Garcia's home
